Damai Counsel was founded in Damansara Utama with a clear sense of purpose: to offer family law services that put the person, not just the case, at the centre of everything. The founding solicitors noticed that many individuals navigating separation or custody matters felt overwhelmed not only by their circumstances but by the legal process itself — the unfamiliar language, the paperwork, the pace.
The name "Damai" — meaning peace or calm in Malay — reflects what the practice aspires to bring to each engagement. Not a false calm that ignores difficulty, but a steady presence that helps clients understand where they stand and feel less alone in the process.
The practice serves individuals across the Klang Valley from its Petaling Jaya office. Clients come for confidential consultations, for representation in custody and maintenance matters, and for end-to-end coordination of more complex family proceedings. Appointments can be arranged at times that work for working parents and busy schedules.
Over the years, the team has built particular depth in matters involving children — custody arrangements, access schedules, child maintenance — always approaching these with the understanding that the children's wellbeing is the most important consideration of all. Every decision, every document, every negotiation is made with that in view.
